My Approach
I approach awareness and development in 6 phases so that a person is not overwhelmed all at once with change. Phase I of the Mental Pulse program addresses a person’s individual superpowers/ their personality preferences (DISC). They are made aware of the attributes of their personality, strengths vs areas of challenge, natural vs. adaptive behavior and if they are task vs. people oriented. Phase II identifies the person’s addictive or destructive behavior patterns and seeks to find a root cause and then allowing the person to process their past. Phase III is emotional regulation where we talk about thought vs. feelings, decreasing unpleasant, distressing emotions and increasing positive emotions, also identifying distorted thought patterns and impulsive behaviors. Phase IV increases self-awareness, becoming less judgmental, and gaining control our focus, addressing rational vs. positive thinking, and touching on the common behaviors of; am I underachieving at work, school, relationships and life in general. Phase V teaches distress tolerance that makes stressful situations more endurable and stress management. Last Phase VI teaches skills on interpersonal effectiveness, where we now can learn to say no, while maintaining good relationships with one’s self-respect, and building self-esteem and self-efficacy.

Choose a Consulting Plan
As you take a look at the different areas of your life where you may need some assistance either with mental health, relationships, career advice, or just seeking to grow in your awareness change requires commitment. Studies show that it takes between 21-30 days to change a habit, keeping this in mind the prefrontal cortex of the brain which enables us to make rational decisions does not fully develop until the mid to late 20’s. It will take time for change to occur so choose a plan that you know you’re able to fully commit to without burnout.

The goal concept is most important for differentiating actions from behaviors. Mindless behaviors are less effective than well-organized actions toward goals. Goal setting and the initiation of new behaviors and sustaining them over time is particularly challenging for most individuals. However, we are all creatures of habit. Therefore, creating new habits is the approach to which we will use to reach your goals.
